PARC will host an AKC Judges & Handlers seminar Jan. 28th, 2017 in Winnie
On January 28, 2016, PARC will sponsor an AKC Hunt Test Judges seminar at City Park (Community Bldg), 335 South Park Street, Winnie, Texas. The seminar will be in the Hospitality Room. All PARC members who worked either the October Hunt Test or the November Masters Only Hunt Test will be given a free pass to the Judges Seminar – all others will pay $30 to attend this seminar. (PARC members planning to attend should contact Norin Borke directly email@example.com )
Registration is being handled via EntryExpress at the link below. The deadline is Jan 23rd.
The Seminar is designed to provide prospective Judges and Handlers with the rules and criteria used in evaluating the performance of Pointing Dogs in the various AKC
Hunt Test Categories, namely Junior Hunter, Senior Hunter and Master Hunter.
The course also provides owners and handler s with an excellent source of information on what is expected of their dogs in the Hunt Test Event... helping them prepare and handle their dogs in the tests. In a Hunt Test, the dogs don't compete against one another, but rather are judged against a standard in the various Hunt Test Categories. Dogs that pass 4 legs of the specific test in which they are entered may earn an official AKC title.... "Junior Hunter", "Senior Hunter" or "Master Hunter".

Established in 1950 as a field trial club, the Port Arthur Retriever Club has become a group of retriever owners, who hunt and live in the Beaumont-Port Arthur area. Areas of interest for our members include obedience, hunt tests, field trials and of course hunting. We continue to work together in an effort to improve our own abilities and those of our dogs while having fun at the same time.
Each year the club is proud to hold two AKC sanctioned field trials, one derby/qualifying event and two AKC licensed hunt tests.
We are now able to offer three seperate areas for training and testing with some of the most challenging technical water available in the area. Our club continues to work in providing one of the premier testing/training facilities on the Gulf Coast. .
We welcome all newcomes to the sport and encourage all retriever owners to spend the necessary time to train their dog and be the best that they can be.
Our annual dues are only $50 which gives you access to our wonderful training grounds all year long.
